1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the PreacherDesk website, subscription service, preaching workspace, support forms, and related services operated by PreacherDesk.com (“PreacherDesk,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
It does not govern websites or services operated independently by third parties. Their privacy policies apply when you use their services.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide, including:
- account and profile information such as your name, email address, church, organization or ministry, denomination, country, ministry language, Bible translation preferences, and selected plan;
- sermon projects, Scripture references, titles, outlines, manuscripts, notes, theological profiles, pastoral guidance, generated materials, and export records;
- support information such as your name, email address, selected topic, and message; and
- information associated with subscription status, billing events, discounts, refunds, and plan changes.
We also collect limited technical and usage information needed to operate and protect the service. This may include session identifiers, IP address, browser or device information, request and error logs, feature usage, model and token usage, export type, timestamps, last account activity time, and the time zone reported by your device for account administration.
Passwords are stored as secure password hashes rather than readable passwords.
3. Ministry and Sensitive Information
Your denomination, theological preferences, sermon notes, pastoral guidance, and ministry content may reveal religious beliefs or other sensitive information. PreacherDesk processes this information only when you choose to provide it and only for the purposes described in this policy, including preparing the materials and outputs you request.
Do not include confidential counseling details, health information, information about minors, or personal information about congregants or other people unless you are authorized to provide it and it is necessary for your requested use.
4. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- create, authenticate, maintain, and secure accounts;
- save sermon projects, preferences, and ministry resources;
- generate, adapt, display, and export requested materials;
- provide subscriptions, billing, trials, and account support;
- respond to support requests and resolve technical problems;
- measure usage, enforce plan limits, and calculate service costs;
- detect abuse, fraud, security threats, and service errors;
- maintain, troubleshoot, and improve PreacherDesk; and
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
5. Sermon and Content Processing
When you request sermon or ministry materials, PreacherDesk shares the relevant project information, instructions, pastoral notes, theological guidance, and existing sermon content with an external content-processing service provider. The resulting materials are returned to PreacherDesk and may be saved in your sermon project.
Only include information needed for the requested task. Review generated materials before using or sharing them.
6. Payments and Billing
Stripe processes payment-card information and hosts the checkout and billing portal. PreacherDesk does not receive or store your complete card number or card security code.
PreacherDesk receives limited billing information from Stripe, such as customer and subscription identifiers, selected plan, subscription status, trial dates, payments, refunds, discounts, and transaction-related metadata needed to manage the subscription.
9. Data Retention
Account information and saved sermon content are generally retained while your account remains active and as reasonably necessary to provide the service. Support records, billing metadata, usage records, security logs, audit records, and backup copies may be retained for legitimate business, security, accounting, dispute-resolution, and legal purposes.
Retention periods vary by the type of information and the reason it is held. When information is no longer reasonably needed, we will delete, anonymize, or securely dispose of it, subject to technical and legal limitations.
10. Your Choices and Privacy Rights
You may update certain account details from your profile. You may also request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of personal information associated with your account. Rights vary by location and may be subject to legal exceptions.
Submit a request through the Contact & Support page. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. If applicable law provides a right to appeal a privacy-request decision, you may submit the appeal through the same page and identify it as a privacy appeal.
Because PreacherDesk does not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising, no opt-out is required for those activities under current practices.
11. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information, including access controls, password hashing, secure session settings, request validation, and rate limits. No internet service or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
You are responsible for using a strong password, protecting your sign-in information, and keeping independent copies of important sermons and exported files.
12. Children
PreacherDesk is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly create accounts for children under 18. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information through the service.
13. International Users
PreacherDesk is operated from the United States. If you access the service from another country, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other locations where service providers operate, subject to applicable law.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the service, providers, or legal requirements change. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be communicated through the service or another reasonable method.
15. Contact
Questions or requests concerning privacy may be submitted through the PreacherDesk Contact & Support page.
